Healthy Home

(Sorry for the blog neglect lately.  Things are starting to slow down for me a little so I will have several coming very soon, including Corban's first birthday.)

We have always wanted to have a healthy home but having a baby puts extra pressure on that goal.  We want a healthy home in all areas.  We want to have a home that has a healthy spiritual life that nurtures growth in our Christian walks.  We want to have a home that is financially healthy with no debt (this is a work in progress thanks to student loans from a private university).  We want to have a home that is healthy in how we relate to each other in love.  We want to have a home that is healthy in what we eat and how we exercise and take care of our bodies.  The last one is our biggest struggle.

We started a journey to get healthy by changing our eating habits and working out.  We started last year and would go in and out of doing it correctly.  In January we started again with our healthy lifestyle but we needed an extra push to keep us going so we started the 24 day challenge.  We tried to follow it as closely as we could. I signed up to do the 24 day challenge during my busiest time of the year.  Every night I had something going.  I had several days in there that I left the house before anyone else was awake and arrived after everyone was back in bed at night.  I am also the mother of a baby.  We eat out.  We eat at church fellowships.  I had every excuse not to do the 24 day challenge.  I knew that if I could do it at this time of the year that I could keep the healthy habits up long term.  It is called a challenge for a reason.  It was not easy, but the hard work paid off.  We were very pleased with our results and it has helped up to form new habits.  We are on the road to having a healthy home.
